Amaury Bertholomé named as the CEO of the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps

NEWS - Press release

The Management Board of the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps SA met on 27 January 2022 and have named Amaury Bertholomé as the company's new CEO.

This appointment comes at the end of a recruitment process conducted by a jury of selection, itself supported by a recruitment agency specialised in the selection of executive directors.

Currently engaged in the implementation of a significant investment plan, the Circuit is experiencing a transformation phase to respond to its strategy of obtaining dual FIA/FIM approval that will allow the return of motorcycle endurance to Spa-Francorchamps, and to make improvements in the spaces dedicated to spectators.

Melchior Wathelet, Chairperson of the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps:

"I am delighted with this decision. Hit by the tragic loss of Nathalie Maillet, the Circuit has needed a new CEO, capable of bringing teams together and of continuing the revamp of the Circuit initiated by Nathalie. Amaury Bertholomé knows the structure and the Circuit's challenges in the short and long-term. As part of his previous roles, he has also nurtured ongoing relations with the teams of the Circuit and of Spa Grand Prix. Likewise, he has shown his involvement in the Circuit in the past and his ability to champion it. His arrival  reinforces our strategy of diversification and anchors the investment plan supported by ING and SOGEPA. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the teams who have been safe hands in the interim to ensure this transition in a difficult context and wish the new CEO great success at the head of the most beautiful circuit in the world."

Amaury Bertholomé, CEO of the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps from 14 February 2022:

"I am very happy to participate in the development of the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps which is an economic, sporting and tourism driver and has a strong sense of identity in our region. The economic development of Wallonia is promoted through sites of excellence that ensure its prestige. The ambitious strategy pursued by the Circuit for several years now allows it to be retained on the map of  unmissable circuits in motorsports, hosting wonderful world competitions, while preserving its accessibility for the benefit of the local people. I am very happy to continue implementation of this strategy with the team in place, very committed and active, and to amplify it further on the environmental plan."
