New at the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps: buy the Raidillon, without being thrown in jail!

NEWS - Press release

As part of the celebration of its centenary, the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps is delighted to introduce to you its exclusive limited-edition version of “100 years of passion” of the famous board game Monopoly!

Would you like to explore the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps with your family or friends? A historic Circuit now a century old, that draws strength from its history but is also resolutely turned towards the future. In fact, the first race took place in August 1921 on what some call “the most beautiful Circuit in the world”.

Players will be able to move along the legendary track that’s a little over 7 km long and build grandstands, become the owner of corners with globally-recognised names that thrill fans and drivers of the most major championships, or even some historic corners of the former 14 km track, named places of the Circuit, Fan Shop, Museum of the Circuit of the Abbaye de Stavelot, and so on. An opportunity to discover or rediscover the Circuit in a different way, and to spend some wonderful entertaining time with family or friends!

Amaury Bertholomé, CEO of the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps: “We are delighted to offer our fans this special edition of Monopoly. Who hasn’t spent some enjoyable time playing this board game with their family? It’s an amusing way to do a lap of the track that promises, I’m sure, pleasant evenings of entertainment and a new way of bringing the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps into your home! This Monopoly “100 years of passion”, bilingual French/English is the fruit of a successful collaboration with the Walloon company DicoGames that has been  customising thematic Monopoly in Belgium for over 15 years.

The board on a black background is entirely illustrated by the designer Vince, well known in the press world. The spaces represent  the Circuit track. The houses and hotels have become grandstands and stadiums, 4 legendary corners have taken the place of the usual 4 stations of the game, the traditional Monopoly pieces are replaced by pieces that have a connection with the race (helmet, wheel, trophy, etc.) and the banknotes also bear the Circuit’s brand. In summary, the game is customised in the true spirit of the Circuit and will delight both young and old.”

“The Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps - 100 years of passion” Monopoly game will be sold, of course, in the Circuit’s Fan Shop from the start of the season. In the meantime, it will be available for sale in all points of sale in the Circuit’s area and also online soon.

* Sales points : Open Source (Francorchamps), Office du Tourisme de Spa, Abbaye de Stavelot, Librairire Scripta (Malmedy)
