WES countdown to Spa-Francorchamps Round

NEWS - Communiqué de presse

The iconic circuit debut in the series next 3-4 September

Monaco (P.ty) Monday 8 August 2022 - WES is getting ready to fly to Spa-Francorchamps, the world-famous motorsport circuit, for the first-ever Belgian Round of the Series.

The iconic track is one of the most legendary in motorsports and will host its 2022 F1 event the week before the WES Round. Acclaimed by drivers and riders from all over the world, the venue now features a brand-new looking Raidillon, the well-known turn completely renewed in its grandstands, next to the woods where the WES races will take place.

A mix of tradition and innovation, not only in its sports and hospitality facilities, as the Belgian venue is open to new disciplines and technologies.

Spa-Francorchamps is located in the magnificent region of the Ardennes, in a natural, breathtaking, verdant setting. The Circuit woods are a distinguishing feature of the circuit, a mix of softwoods and hardwoods that make the perfect terrain for an E-MTB World Cup race track.

WES riders, the top world Women and Men will get to Spa-Francorchamps right after the UCI E-MTB World Championships (taking place next 26th August in France) and we can’t wait to see who is going to wear the coveted Rainbow Jersey for the first time at Spa-Francorchamps.

Next 3-4 September, the race track designed by the WES Staff together with the Spa-Francorchamps Team will be raced clockwise in race 1, on Saturday and anti-clockwise in race 2, on Sunday.

Riders and wildcards can apply to the World Cup HERE.

This great racing weekend will also feature the WES E-Bike Fest, a new successful format at WES, where everyone is invited with free registration, freebies, and the chance to meet the champs and ride in the E-Bike area along with pro guides.

Skilled amateurs can take part in the traditional Ride WES, the guided randonnée on and around the World Cup track.

Participants can register HERE.
