A super bonus from the postponement of the Spa World Rallycross of Benelux and WRC!

Two FIA world championships in one weekend at the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps!

Following the recent directives from the Belgian Government National Security Council concerning measures linked to the Covid-19 crisis that is affecting all continents, a decision has been taken in consultation with the FIA, the RACB, the IMG and the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps to postpone the Spa World Rallycross of Benelux (scheduled for 3 and 4 October) to 21 and 22 November 2020.

Nathalie Maillet, CEO of the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps: "We hope, with this deferral, that the situation will be more favourable and that by then we’ll be able to welcome back our fans. In this case, it would be under conditions that allow us ensure the safety and health of all, as this imperative to protect health remains our main concern." She continues: "Postponing the Spa World Rallycross of Benelux will also allow us host the WRC on 22 November and to offer a totally unprecedented spectacular show with two FIA world championships in the same weekend at the Circuit. We wanted in this way to support the Rally of Ypres, organiser of this Belgian round of the WRC, a world first, but also support DG Sport, a dynamic company in the region whose reputation already speaks for itself in the Rally world".

Christian Jupsin, DG Sport: "To see the WRC stop over for a day in our country is a dream that all rally fans would truly cherish!  Even better, this taking place at the same time as the World Rallycross at Francorchamps, is really exceptional. I have to thank Nathalie Maillet and Alain Penasse for placing their confidence in DG Sport and congratulate them on putting together this historic collaboration!"

Of course this leg of the WRC will be taking place on a completely new track, the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps offering an exceptional field of play for motorsports, a track that will logically pass by the famous Raidillon.

All tickets already purchased for the Spa World Rallycross of Benelux will remain valid.

The "weekend and Sunday" tickets will also allow access to the WRC special and power stage on the Circuit. (sparxbenelux.com)
