Canine squads are in training at the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps

Sometimes we host unusual activities and visitors! Shortly before the restart of our activities on track, canine squads from several police divisions in the region chose the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps to carry out the instruction and training of the 7 dog handlers and their four-legged partners. This training was carried out under the supervision of a specialist provincial canine team. The start of the day was dedicated to warm-up exercises for the Malinois dogs in the Circuit's boxes. After that, there were intervention simulations that took place in the Pit building, including the apprehension of an individual considered to be dangerous. Following a briefing of the situation to be dealt with, each team proceeded to the apprehension in real time in a place that was unknown to them.

These dogs are a precious member of the police personnel, and they carry out multiple missions both in support and as part of their daily patrols. They assist their colleagues as part of interventions, in specific operations (such as searches, monitoring, thorough searching of buildings, and so on) and in making public areas secure and safe.

The Circuit is happy to have been able to contribute to the training of police forces and their four-legged colleagues. We also have to thank all the police services for their assistance as part of our events.
