What was previously reserved solely for the Formula 1 and motorsport professional will now be accessible to all professional racing teams, with the arrival to the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps of VIRTEX.

A new and highly-advanced simulator centre, emerging as the ultimate performance partner in race preparation.
Today marks the official opening of the most advanced simulator centre ever built trackside and will give race teams access to one of the most realistic simulation toolsets in the world of motorsport.
The facility features the high performance Dynisma DMG-1 driving simulator and will also provide a broader purpose-built working environment for all teams. Drivers, engineers and the entire team will now be able to prepare in a faster and smarter way.
Though based at Spa-Francorchamps, this VIRTEX facility provides access to every major circuit worldwide, built using the latest LiDAR scans that capture every asperity or rough patch on the track. Thus, whether a team is preparing for a race in Belgium, Japan or Brazil, it will be able to be (virtually) there in a few seconds – simulating setups, analysing data and optimising performances in real time.
“F1 teams and manufacturing programmes have been using high-fidelity simulation for decades”, says Julien Gillard, VIRTEX founder and CEO. “And now it’s finally at the disposal of a larger number of categories in the world of motorsport such as the GT3s/GT4s, F2s/F3s/F4s and prototypes”.
Designed to closely replicate real-world vehicle behaviour, the VIRTEX simulator offers teams a tool they can trust – not only for driver familiarisation, but also for full-scale setup development and car performance. Thanks to this technology, teams will now be able to move a lot more of their preparation into the virtual realm, thereby optimising efficiency: up to 5 times faster, 25 times cheaper, and with no risk at all to either driver or machine.
The location of this centre at the foot of Eau Rouge, at the very heart of our circuit, has not been left to chance. This strategic location offers immediate access and unparalleled flexibility to teams that regularly visit the track.
“We are truly delighted to welcome VIRTEX within our walls”, says Amaury Bertholomé, CEO of the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. “This partnership is the result of a long-term effort, and allows us to further enhance the services offered at the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. In this way the Circuit continues to pursue its position of excellence in all aspects of motorsports.”
As for hardware, the simulation is powered by the leading motion-simulation technology developed by Dynisma. Renowned for its ultra-low (3-4 ms) latency and its high-fidelity performance, the Dynisma Motion Generator (DMG) platform is already trusted by leading automotive OEMS and top-tier motorsport teams in F1, F2, FE, WEC and IMSA.
For those teams travelling to Belgium, the VIRTEX team ensures a seamless experience, organising transfers between the airport, Circuit and hotel.
The first wave of testing has already begun ahead of the 24 Hours of Spa, with the participation of several GT3 teams that came to assess the solutions offered. Further demonstration sessions will now be open for bookings.
