
The Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps today joins the restricted circle of Belgian symbols immortalised on a 2-Euro commemorative coin.

On the occasion of a ceremony organised on the Circuit, Mathieu Bihet, the Federal Minister for Energy, Pierre-Yves Jeholet, Vice-President of the Government of Wallonia and Minister of the Economy, Industry, Digital, Employment and Training, along with Amaury Bertholomé, CEO of the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, have officially launched the new Belgian-issue coin for 2025.
This exceptional coin, entirely dedicated to the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, was presented by Giovanni Van de Velde, Master of the Mint at the Royal Mint of Belgium (MRB). It is available now from the website: www.piecescommemoratives.be.
Symbol of prestige, history and sporting passion, the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps is renowned worldwide as one of the most legendary motorsport tracks in the world. However, beyond sporting competition, the Circuit actively works to promote economic development, accessibility and the enhancement of its area. For over a century now, it has been fostering a strong symbiotic relationship with its natural environment and its local community, including through diversified cultural and educational initiatives.

Two exclusive versions are available from today
The commemorative 2 Euro Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps coin is offered in two versions:
- Polished, (shiny) uncirculated (BU) coin, presented in an original coin card in the Circuit colours, available in French and Dutch versions (limited edition of 150,000 original specimens)
- Belle Épreuve, packaged in an elegant collectable case (limited to 5,000 samples)
These items, although legal tender in the entire Eurozone, will not be put into circulation.
The coin’s design pays homage to the Circuit’s unique imprint in the landscape and history of motorsport. We can see the faithful silhouette of the current track, surmounted with the inscription CIRCUIT DE SPA FRANCORCHAMPS, as well as the notes: “7,004 M”(its length) and “1921” (year of its creation). Below, featuring the mark of the Master of the Mint (an Erlenmeyer flask with an aster), the inscriptions BE, 2025, the workshop symbol (the staff of Mercury), as well as the initials of its creator, IB for Iris Bruijns.
