THE BIKERS’CLASSICS 2021 IN FREE TRACK RIDING AND TEST DAYS MODE

News - BIKERS'CLASSICS

We had to face the facts, although the number of people authorized during outdoor events continues to grow, setting up a big festival of old motorcycles bringing together all enthusiasts is not yet possible the first weekend of July. DG Sport was therefore forced to decide that the 2021 edition of the Bikers’Classics will take place in ‘free track’ mode on Friday 2, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 July, establishing themselves as perfect test days in view of the 4 Hours of Spa Classic, rescheduled later in the season…

« The situation is unfortunately quite simple, comments Florian Jupsin, Bike Manager at DG Sport. The number of people authorized for such an event is sufficient… to accommodate all the participants in the paddocks ! But then what about the public ? The decision to hold the 2021 Bikers’Classics behind closed doors was therefore self-evident. Alas. There will be no Grand Prix riders’ parade, but only free sessions for homogeneous groups. As for the new date of the 4 Hours of Spa Classic, that will be announced later… »

The cancellation of the GP Parade unfortunately coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit… « It was indeed in 1921 that the first race was contested there … and it was a motorcycle race, continues Christian Jupsin. In the absence of the Parade, a magnificent book of more than 250 pages reviewing 100 years of motorcycling in Francorchamps is currently in preparation. Info will be available soon… » Participants wishing to unleash their classic beasts on the legendary Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps can register now via the website www.bikersclassics.be, tab ‘Registration’.
