En été 1921, sur des routes non revêtues formant grosso modo un triangle entre Francorchamps, Malmédy et Stavelot, on disputait le premier Grand Prix de Belgique des motos. Deux catégories étaient en lice : les 350 et les 500cc. Il suffisait alors d’équiper une ‘deuche’, le plus souvent récupérée à la casse, d’un arceau de sécurité, de harnais, coupe-circuit, siège baquet, et de bricoler quelques améliorations ‘course’ pour pouvoir engager l’engin dans cette épreuve atypique.
