La naissance officielle du Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps remonte en effet au 12 août 1921 et c’est par le biais d’un Grand Prix réservé aux motos que l’histoire du circuit entre dans le vif du sujet. Deux ans plus tôt, alors que la suppression... et organise le 12 août une première course de motos qui réunira 23 machines. Le début d’une longue histoire faite de courses de renom et d’exploits en tout genre, mais surtout de passion et de fans qui eux aussi ont contribué à écrire les pages

De opening van het seizoen is altijd een bijzonder moment. En dit jaar meer dan ooit, want het Circuit van Spa-Francorchamps viert zijn 100ste verjaardag! In augustus 1921 werd voor de allereerste keer een race gehouden op wat sommigen "Het mooiste circuit ter wereld" noemen. Het ging om een motorrace, een knipoog naar de terugkeer van de endurance moto naar het circuit volgend jaar met de 24U SPA MOTOS van het FIM EWC Wereldkampioenschap.
